Amazon Watch

As its name suggests, the Amazon Watch does its work around the Amazon Basin. Its headquarters are based in San Francisco. The Amazon Watch works hand in hand with indigenous groups and environmental organizations to advance the rights and cause of indigenous people.

Taking this action became paramount after large scale development projects such as the oil and gas pipeline experienced tremendous growth.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA)

This is a renowned group in California which fights for the rights of immigrant families as well as those for individuals. They champion for human rights such as free mobility of persons and participation in the democracy.

The team making up The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights is on a mission to see and live in a society which is inclusive of all, including the immigrant.

They are achieving their mission by challenging the opinion of masses and building power. At the same time, they change policies for human, immigrant and civil rights.

The group came into existence following the 1986 Immigrant Reform and Control Act. Thanks to this act, it officially became illegal hiring undocumented workers who were a recipe for their exploitation.

The Advocates for Human Rights

This has enabled The Advocates for Human Rights to implement the human rights international standards as they reinforce appropriate laws. Their work which has spanned over a period of more than thirty years has impacted the lives of many children, women, and immigrants.

ACLU Immigrant’ Rights Project

The incredible project specializes in protecting the rights of the immigrants. They achieve their objectives through advocacy and outreach as well as litigation. This project has the biggest litigation program in the whole country. Larkin and Lacey challenge ridiculous laws which deny innocent immigrants their rights to judicial processes.

Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

This fund is as a result of the dedication of Michael and Jim. The two duos are the co-founders of the famous Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times. The funds go to immigrants’ rights organizations all over Arizona.

Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund supports all types of groups which champion for human, civil and immigrant rights. Other freedoms include those of speech and participation.
